The impact of income inequality on environmental quality: a sectoral-level analysis

Many studies in the literature examine income inequality-environment nexus at country level. In this paper, we argue that impact of inequality on sectoral emissions might vary and should be examined by considering sectoral-level differences. We focus 28 OECD economies use DOLSMG, BA-OLS, CUP-FM estimators. Our findings reveal a cointegration relationship exists among series long run, indicating both are crucial factors emissions. The estimates show 1% increase Gini index leads to an from power building sectors about 1.4%.
